Currently, the population stands at approximately 41,934, of which 77.0% are white non-Hispanic, 10.4% are black non-Hispanic, 4.8% Asian, and the remaining 7.8% of the population are of various races. The median household income is $111,424, and the average home value is $426,943. Major employers include Publix supermarkets; A. Duda and Sons, Inc., major growers of sod; the Oviedo Mall, Seminole State, which sits just outside the City’s corporate limits; and the City of Oviedo itself with over 300 full-time, part-time, and seasonal staff members. The City is home to four elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school.
