SR. HR ANALYST - ENTRY SALARY: $58,566.82

Under general direction, the Human Resources Analyst or Sr. HR Analyst performs skilled and professional work for the classification, compensation, equal employment opportunity, recruitment and selection, workforce planning, employee development, performance appraisal, occupational analysis, labor relations, benefits, employee relations, FMLA administration, and other personnel programs within the Human Resources Department.

Current recruitment is for our Employee Relations & Equity division but will assist with benefits administration as well.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Employee Relations & Equity

• Communicates information, technical assistance, or training to supervisors, managers, and employees on topics centered on Employee Relations, Diversity, and other related areas.

• Develops and creates various presentations to ensure all policies and procedures of the City are clearly communicated to employees.

• Works closely with supervisors of departments to identify, address, and resolve employee performance and behavior issues; writes and reviews development plans, discipline notices, and termination documents; assists with the discipline process and coordinates mandated EAP.

• Conducts detailed investigations within the City and writes detailed case reports.

• Coordinates and facilitates random drug and alcohol testing; updates testing logs, uses random generator to select employees, schedules testing, and coordinates with testing facility; works with supervisor on discipline processes.

• Conducts and participates in various investigations of complaints regarding Human Resources, EEO or Diversity violations; determines the validity of complaints, identifies all critical components of the complaint; makes discipline recommendations and determinations and prepares comprehensive reports.

• Research workplace conduct and workplace violence situations, reviews and monitors compliance with policies and procedures.

• Collects, compiles, organizes, and provides professional analysis data relating to EEO or Diversity issues.

• Assists with the administration of benefits for the city, which will include monitoring status changes, terminations, retirements, FMLA, promotions, and other personnel statuses, assisting and supporting employees with various escalated benefit questions.

• Administers, collects, compiles, organizes, and provides professional analysis data relating to benefits, wellness, and records.

• Administration of all benefits; monitors status changes, terminations, retirements, FMLA, promotions, and other personnel statuses.

• Provides administration of FMLA; explains and interprets FMLA to employees, determines eligibility, delivers notices, and works with providers' offices to obtain completed paperwork.

• Coordinates, explains, and interprets various benefits and insurance related questions; understands and answers questions related to all Workers Compensation, retirement, and other benefits.

• Compiles and enters data into various systems and databases; maintains personnel records and provides historical searches and research when needed.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
